The Kjavik One is the only barefoot shoe with the Kjavik 3-step insole system. You set the pace of your transition, from cushioned to true zero drop. Modern sneaker design for the gym, the office and everything in between.
Half a size down from your usual sneaker. The wide toe box gives your toes room, so the shoe sits closer to your real foot length.
14 days to try them at home. Size exchange is free, including the return label. A full return costs €4.90 for shipping and processing.
The insole system is included free. Start on the 6 mm Comfort insole and take it out after two to four weeks. No extra purchase, nothing to decide at checkout.
The Kjavik One runs large and is cut wide. Because of its anatomical shape it sits closer to your real foot length than a conventional sneaker.

Inner length and inner width are the measurements of the shoe itself. “Your foot length” is the inner length minus 5 to 10 mm of room, which is what most people find comfortable. EU 48 is available in the selector as well. Same rule: half a size down from your usual sneaker.
Other brands sell insoles as an accessory. With Kjavik all three ship in every box, so you decide how fast you go barefoot. That is what makes the switch safe instead of forced, and it is why you do not have to choose anything here.
The short version first. Tap “Read more” for the full explanation including the studies.
Zero drop and a wide toe box put the muscles in your feet back to work.
0 mm drop instead of a hidden heel. Your knees, hips and back will notice.
A wide toe box means real force transfer on squats and deadlifts.
Three levels, from a 6 mm cushion to no insole at all. You set the pace.
Gym, street, office. It replaces most of the rack.
No wellness slogans, only published research on barefoot movement.
People who wear minimal footwear regularly can strengthen their foot muscles significantly, measured against people who have spent their lives in minimal shoes.
Holowka et al., “Foot strength and stiffness are related to footwear use in a comparison of minimally- vs. conventionally-shod populations”, Scientific Reports 11, 18351 (2021).
Zero-drop shoes keep your body square to the ground. Your spine stops compensating backwards, and the constant load on hips and lower back drops with it.
Sinclair, “Effects of barefoot and barefoot inspired footwear on knee and ankle loading during running”, Clinical Biomechanics 29(4), 395–399 (2014).
Minimal shoes reduce peak loading at the knee compared with traditional running shoes with thick cushioning, at the same speed over the same distance.

Fighters, doctors, calisthenics athletes. Not because it is trending, but because it works.

“In training the Kjavik gives me more power, and in everyday life I just love the natural comfort. Brilliant shoe, the best barefoot shoe out there for me. My pick: the ONE in Glacier White.”

“In daily life we should walk barefoot or in barefoot shoes as much as possible. The Kjavik One is comfortable and it looks good. The insole system that comes with it is excellent for a slow transition and can prevent overuse injuries.”

“My current favourite training and competition shoes. Super comfortable and extremely light, which matters enormously in freestyle calisthenics. And they look really good on top of that.”
“I did not think a barefoot shoe could look this good. I wear the One every day now: calisthenics, work, everywhere.”
“The Comfort insole was perfect for the transition. After three weeks I took it out. My knee problems are noticeably better.”
“Finally a barefoot shoe I do not have to explain to anyone. Great quality, sustainable, second pair already ordered.”
Most customers order half a size to a full size down from their usual sneaker. The wide toe box gives your toes natural room, which is intentional. If in doubt, measure your foot length and use the size chart in the configurator above. If you get it wrong, the exchange is free.

Yes. It is built for the gym, strength training and light running. The wide toe box and 0 mm drop give you maximum contact with the floor on deadlifts and squats.
